Project Management That Works!
15

I was recently asked to create a feature article for the magazine "Industrial Manager"  Here is is an excerpt:

"If we take Rob’s definition, PMI®’s definition, and mix it with Einstein’s definition of insanity, it is easy to see that it is time for a change. Companies will continue to complain about project failures, but will still make statements like “We don’t have time to plan, we have to get working on this project!” They will be frustrated by cost overruns, but will still not want to have a formalized change management structure. They will want a solid project manager, but will get frustrated as to what they feel is “red tape” that comes with the project management process. For companies to become successful in projects, they have to change their view of project management. I understand that this seems like a Herculean effort, and in many cases it is. However, you can change the organization.  You can change the statistics from failure to success. It starts with managing the context of a project."

Look for it in the next issue!
