Just got back from my trip from my hometown, Orlando! It was an incredible time. The Orlando PMI Chapter rolled out the red carpet again and I had a phenomenal time.
I got a chance to visit a company called United Systems and Software, Incorporated (USSI). This is the company that my father was a member of at the beginning. It is a privately held company that has been going strong in the software industry since 1969. Keith Fischer, son of Ken Fischer now has the reins and is moving the company into a new territory. Keith and I had a chance to reminisce about the old days and shared a laugh about how our fathers wanted us to follow in their footsteps. We were both very stubborn and announced that it would never happen. Yet, there we both were, carbon copies of our dads. It was a great time!
I also met Jennifer Hamilton of North Highland. I looked at their website and thought it was innovative and shared many of the principles that I believed in. If you have a chance, check it out at www.northhighland.com.
Finally, I was able to reunite with my best friend growing up. We were best friends from the age of 5 until the 8th grade. After his family moved away, we lost touch. Thanks to technology and the Internet, our friendship continues almost 20 years later. I truly had a great time in Orlando!
