I had the opportunity to make my first foray into Canada. The event was Canada's Technology Triangle Symposium. There were almost 200 people there and turned out to be a great event. I was able to meet several people that I have heard of and get a chance to understand their messages.
One person that I got to meet that I enjoyed my time with was Kevin Aguanno. He has a book out on managing Agile projects. He killed his presentation and had several people buying his books. He also made it painfully aware that I needed to change my process! Like me, many of the authors will speak at the symposiums and then sell their books afterwards. Kevin and I were at the same table selling our books. Many people at the symposiums want to buy books with a credit card. I use PayPal to process credit cards. He had a manual process where he would imprint the card and enter in the transaction later. The end result? In the time it would take me to sell one book, he had 4 transactions completed. Thanks Kevin!!!!
More to come about Kitchener in the next post :)
